OUR PEOPLE
Miramichi Ground Search and Rescue is a 100% volunteer organization made of people young and older, woman and men of all walks of life wishing to give back to their community in a significant way – finding lost people.
United by compassion, dedication, and a desire to give back, our volunteers devote their time and skills to ensuring that those in need have the best chance of being found and brought home safely. Our members come together with one purpose: to make a meaningful difference by helping locate and assist people who are lost or missing.
OUR AREA
MGSAR is responsible for Region 5, the largest search area in New Brunswick. Covering such a vast region means that response times could be compromised without highly trained members and well‑maintained equipment. Search locations are often far from our base and frequently situated in extremely remote terrain, requiring teams to be ready for long travel times whenever the RCMP or Miramichi Police Force issues an activation call.
In addition to local operations, MGSAR provides mutual aid to GSAR teams across New Brunswick and, when requested, to partner agencies in other provinces.

They commit their time to regular training, prevention and full-scale exercises with our partners and neighbouring teams, while also maintaining their First Aid and First Responder skills, technical rescue capabilities, and specialized team training.
